Effect of Sodium Concentration on the Synthesis of Faujasite by Two-step Synthesis Procedure

The relationship between the concentration of sodium cations and properties faujasite(FAU) zeolite was investigated using a two-step synthesis procedure including (1) formation amorphous aluminosilicate precursors separation nanoparticles, (2) transformation these particles into crystals by treatment with alkali solutions(NaOH). Three representative samples two nano-sized zeolites one micron-sized were prepared different concentrations hydroxide. crystallization process studied in detail Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(NMR), X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission microscopy(TEM), N2 adsorption. results indicated that minor changes concertation inorganic can significantly shorten induction period time thus affect morphology, size chemical composition crystals.
